Hurray - finally got my kite setup okay
30m lines and a proper de-power setup on my bar
Went down to Poole for a party on the Sat night and turned up to the water
about 2 pm
Not a lot of wind at all :> - The blimps (LEIs) weren't doing much - some
people getting going for a short distance, but a lot of the kites were just
falling out of the sky due to the lack of wind
Started with my 18m Guerilla and could only manage short blasts downwind
before the lack of wind caused me to come off the plan and sink back into
the shallow waters of Poole harbour. It's shallow of a long way out -
perfect for any beginner kitesurfers out there.
Decided to stack my 18 and 13 together - and amazingly they lanched first
time ! One slow turn and the stack powered off and I blasted across the
harbour. Great feeling after a rubbish sess last weekend - plus I was the
only person out there who was able to get going in the light winds. I love
the Guerilla kites - a lot lighter than the LEIs so they stay up even when
the wind really drops.
Can't wait for the next session - hoping for more wind though - you can
really jump with a stacks. Roll on the winter winds :>
Hope the rest of you had more wind in Wales
